Aggie's Kitchen started on a casual summer afternoon a couple of years ago. During this time, my children—age 3 and under—and I spent a lot of time entertaining ourselves by cooking and watching food shows, and it just sprouted from there. Little did I know how much I would enjoy taking pictures of food and sharing recipes with people I've never met!

My cooking and eating philosophy has always been focused on using healthy, fresh and whole ingredients, but I always reserve the right to enjoy the occasional treat...especially if it includes peanut butter and chocolate. I am slightly obsessed with fresh produce and whole grains. My pantry and veggie drawer are always overflowing and the produce guy at my local grocery store knows me by name. I am happiest when in the kitchen cooking for those who I love.

My Favorite Food Memory

If you grew up in an Italian family you can probably relate to waking up on Sunday mornings to the smells of garlic and onions simmering on the stove. Our 1pm Sunday "dinners" were always simply amazing...nothing fancy, just good home cooking. The best part was the morning "tasting" to hold us over…a small plate of crusty bread dunked in sauce, with a freshly made meatball on the side. Every week was the same but different…you could always count on a big plate of pasta and sauce and lots of loud talking.
